23 Mobile Things, Thing #8 Social Media Management

So I downloaded Buffer for Android and spent some time using it. It seems like a great tool for managing an enterprise’s social footprint. I had no problem integrating Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. Google+ had a hiccup, but was playing nice with the app eventually.

I really liked how you could post simultaneously to multiple networks, Buffer made it really easy to see who was reacting to your posts. It is a really nice feature to be able to queue up several posts and have them come out at specified times. I also like how Twitter’s shorter posts where handled by the app. It also has integration with many other tools online, like Evernote, Pocket, Ifttt, Reader and other popular tools, as well as native Chrome, Firefox and Safari plugins.

I think that Buffer is a really good tool to manage a social profile for a company, it seems like a powerful communication tool. I think that if you had a professional Twitter feed to manage, or a professional Facebook or Google+ account this would be a necessary app to have on your phone or tablet.
